Minerva was the ancient Roman goddess of wisdom and learning... inventiveness and the arts... handcrafts and commerce. She was often carved on the prow of ships carrying goods across the seas. The long association of Minerva with the sea is appropriately reflected in the nautical theme of many of our artworks... as well as our location in the city of Bath, Maine, the very "City of Ships."
